The Medical Team of IRONMAN Regensburg guarantees an optimum of medical support at any time. During the race doctors and first aid personnel of the Bavarian Red Cross will attend the swim course at Lake “Guggenberger See”, each aid station along the bike course as well as the run course.
The finish area team will take care of every athlete immediately if necessary. A doctor will check the physical condition of every athlete. All athletes will be led to the Athlete’s Garden by a member of the finish area team.
The entry fee of IRONMAN Regensburg includes all medical services as explained. Every competitor must have an individual health insurance which covers medical treatment in case of serious injury or illness as well as the treatment in hospital.
Since hot summer weather is expected it is necessary to drink plenty of water during the race and after the finish. Please obey to the orders of the medical staff at any time. Thanks.

Allergic Persons
For allergic persons with asthmatic symptoms we recommend a lung function test, particularly for those participants racing for the first time. Physicians can prescribe a spray to promptly stop any asthmatic fit that may occur before, during or after the race. Note that some of these sprays contain substances that are listed as forbidden, performance enhancing drugs and can only be taken due to the approved diagnosis of a federation or specialist physician.
Doping
Doping is prohibited. After finishing the race the Anti-Doping-Commission of the German Triathlon federation (DTU) together with the National Anti-Doping Commission (NADA) will conduct anti-doping-tests without further notification.
